I want to give my sincerest apologies for the last year. I really wanted to blog all the time when my foals started coming. After, I had helped Blair's Riding Stable pick out the horses they were going to use on the post for the riders, helped fix the electric fence, help feed once in a while, watered all the horses when needed, etc.. Soon after my foals were on the ground the stable owner kicked me out for hosing down my horse Velvet in the wrong area. Shortly after I got my horses moved to my house my mare Velvet passed away, about a week later her foal Pistol passed away, also. Needless to say I had a bad year 2 yrs. in a row. Velvet had been born and raised on my farm. She was about 16 yrs. old and we had just gotten her back. She developed pneumonia while at Blair's Riding Stables, the short 2 weeks, that I did not go out, to visit her, no one had bothered to tell me she was coughing or acting abnormal. Needless to say I was devastated, very depressed and terribly disappointed.
I had to sell Peppers foal because I could not keep all of them in my back yard, I live in town. I do have a couple of pictures of him when he was about 3 months old. I will post them. I think I will have a memorial tribute for Velvet and Pistol.
